Mint Park at Sonic Acts
Mint Park will be featured as part of Listening Room #4 for Sonic Acts 2024, 30th Anniversary Edition. She will be showing Morphology of the Aerial, originally developed with sound, light, and an 8-channel pneumatic instrument during her iii Research Residency in 2021.
Morphology of the Aerial is an air sculpting apparatus and a subsequent spatial audio-visual composition. As a way to speculate the dark and unusual contingencies and complex phenomenon within our surroundings, the composition unfolds with a single air release of compressed air and evolves into a multi-channel sonic texture of working and weathering with turbulent airflow, questioning what turbulence would sound like in its physicality and materiality. The composition has been mixed and mastered in Elektronmusikstudion (EMS) in Stockholm’s multichannel studio during her guest composer residency in 2022.
